WhatsApp is gearing up to implement a new feature with which the mobile messenger app read out the messages for you. This feature is similar to that of the voice speaking capability implemented in few smartphones. The new feature will be implemented with the help of an assistant like Siri, which will read out the messages for you.
Currently being tested on iOS devices, the feature named as ‘Speak’ enables your handset to access the content on WhatsApp and read out your chats for you. According to reports, there will be two different options.
WhatsApp to integrate a ‘Speak’ virtual button
After selecting a message, you can either reply to the specific message or allow your phone to read it out with a ‘Speak’ virtual button. However, other options such as delete, forward and copy options will be still intact.
WhatsApp Android to ship with image filters and stickers
Talking about Android version, the WhatsApp will be refreshed with new features such as photo filters, stickers and the ability to write on photos like Snapchat very soon. Recently, Facebook has been involved in copying the features offered by Snapchat on its Instagram platform. It looks like WhatsApp is also borrowing few features from Snapchat.
The newly introduced feature in Android enables you to capture a photo, add stickers to it from the collection and scribble or doodle on it like you would do on Snapchat. The mobile messenger app will also provide support for selfie flash. However, this feature will work only if the relevant handset has flash support on the selfie camera.
According to latest reports, WhatsApp will share user information with Facebook to allow individual-specific advertisements and marketing. That being said, WhatsApp also released a new update such as Voicemail, new font and multiple file sharing options.
There are reports that WhatsApp is testing video calls feature. However, we haven’t heard anything about this new feature other than rumors.
