‘Gandhigiri’ movie review: Highlights the importance of Gandhiji’s values in this corrupt world

Hindi movie “Gandhigiri” starring Om Puri, Sanjay Mishra, Brijesh Karniwal, Mukesh Tiwar and others hit the screens in India on Friday, October 14, 2016.

The film directed by Sanoj Mishra and produced by Aagman Films, tries to answer questions like the importance of Gandhiji’s values in the corrupt world today.

The Film

The fiction movie is the story of Rai Saheb an NRI who returns to India. Rai Saheb is a strong believer of principles given by Gandhiji. Rai Saheb’s father was closely associated with Gandhiji and played an active role in the freedom movement.

In India Rai Saheb meets four different people who took wrong paths due to various circumstances. The movie very beautifully shows how Rai saheb made them understand the importance of Gandhi’s principle. The movie is well crafted to show that even today Gandhi’s values remain meaningful and if implemented in day -to -day life can bring peace.

The cast and the crew of the film

The movie has Om Puri playing the role of Rai Saheb and he is supported with other actors including Sanjay Mishra, Anupam Shyam, Brijesh karniwal, Mukesh Tiwari, Dolly Chawla, Meghna Haldar, Ram Sujan Singh etc. Director Sanoj Mishra has also done the screen play of the movie and the cinematography is done Ravi Chandan and Neetu Iqbal. The movie is edited by Archit D Rastogi.

Music

Singers Ankit Tiwari, Sunidhi Chauhan, Mohammad Irfaan, Sujatha and Masha sing to the tunes given in the movie by music directors Sahil Rayyan and Shivam Pathak.

Location

The movie is shot in the beautiful locations in Uttar Pradesh and especially Lucknow. The movie is releasing today and the whole crew has put in their best efforts to make it a success. Now it’s up to the audience how they react to the movie released during festival season. The critics have appreciated the movie but box office collections depend on choice of the audience.
