For a while, rumors were doing the round that Shah Rukh Khan and Kangana Ranaut are going to work in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film. In an interview, the gorgeous actor confirmed the rumors but has called the project to be at a premature stage.
Confirming the news at the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/ Festive 2016, the “Queen” actress stated that the Bajirao Mastani director has spoken about the movie with her and Shahrukh Khan. But the project is at an initial stage and will take a while before it comes on the screen.
Does she need a ‘Khan’ surname to make a hit movie?
It’s not a hidden truth that the “Tanu Weds Manu 2” actress is one actor in Bollywood who does not need a superstar to make a movie hit. She opts for roles that can become a huge hit without the three Khans and Akshaye Kumar in it.
Her versatility in the acting domain with performance roles in films like ‘Fashion’ (2008), ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ (2011), ‘Queen’ (2014) and ‘Tanu Weds Manu 2’ (2015) has won her fans like Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan. Also, the three times National Awards winner is one of the highest paid actresses in the film industry.
There were reports in the past that the ‘Queen’ star was going to be part of Aamir Khan’s ‘Ghajini‘, but that did not materialize. Finally, the popular icon is going to share screen space with one of the Khan.
Her Upcoming Project
On the big screen, she will next be seen in a biopic on “Rani Lakshmibai” directed by filmmaker Ketan Mehta. The actress will play the titular role in the film based on the Rani of Jhansi who had taken up arms against the British in 1857 to free her state from their rule.
The petite actress is hopeful that this movie will provide hope to the current generation which is lost somewhere. They will also recognize the importance of our freedom fighters and the sacrifice that the did to free our country.
Next, the Fashion actress will be seen in ‘Rangoon‘ directed by Vishal Bhardwaj also starring Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor. She will also be part of Hansal Mehta ‘Simran‘ and Ritesh Batra’s next film in her kitty.
Now what remains to be seen is how will she manage a date in this pipeline. But for now, we can only imagine the magic that King Khan and “Queen” Kangana will weave on the screen.
