Anil Ambani’s elder son Jai Anmol inducted into Reliance Capital board

MUMBAI: The third generation of the Ambani scion, Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani’s elder son Anmol Ambani joins the board of Reliance Capital as an additional director. Anmol Ambani, 24, joins as the additional director following a board meet on Tuesday. Earlier, Mukesh Ambani’s children, Akash and Isha took up position in the telecom and the retail division.

Anmol joined Reliance Capital in 2014 and is expected to join as the executive director after approval by the shareholders. Anmol has been actively involved in the in-house business reviews in subsidiaries of the company. He was involved in negotiations with Nippon Life for increasing stake in Reliance Capital Asset Management and Reliance Life Insurance.

About Jai Anmol:

Jai Anmol had undergone an exhaustive two years of training before he joined the board on Tuesday as the additional director.

He has worked in different posts in various financial service businesses within Reliance capital from 2014. He is the only family member to have joined the board after his father Anil Ambani in the financial services arm of Reliance Group. He is expected to become a full-time executive director at the annual general meeting (AGM) next month. His cousin, Akash is employed with Mukesh Ambani’s company, Reliance Industries.

Schooling:

He was born and brought up in Mumbai and studied at the Cathedral and John Connon School, till Std X (2007) and after that completed his schooling from Seven Oaks School, United Kingdom, in 2009.He did his internship with the equity research department of Reliance Mutual Fund (RMF).

Anmol holds a degree from Warwick Business School in the UK and has spent the last few years visiting employees across businesses in different regions to get a firsthand knowledge and get exposure to have a better understanding of the vagaries of the trade.
Reliance Capital with revenue of over Rs. 4000 crores has numerous verticals which deal with life insurance, commercial finance, securities, banking and mutual funds.

Anmol has been described by observers as a keen learner and also an active participant in all reviews. He displays a razor-sharp business acumen which is evident in his role in different decision-making process.
