The Indian market has witnessed the launch of another flagship smartphone. Chinese phone manufacturer OnePlus has launched its latest flagship device OnePlus 5 in Mumbai. Two different variants of the device have joined the fleet of OnePlus devices in India.
One Variant of Oneplus 5 has 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The price tag for this device is Rs. 32,999. The other variant has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The price of this variant is Rs. 37,999. There are also two color options available to the Indian people to choose from. These color options include Midnight Black and Slate Grey. The main feature of both variants is that they will come with Paytm pre-installed. Long pressing the home button will lead the user to a payment page.
The detailed specifications of the device include a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display with 1080X1920 pixels resolution. A 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection saves the display from damages. A new feature of this display is that it supports sRGB and DCI-P3 color standards. The dimensions of the device are 154.2 mm X 74.1 mm X 7.25 mm and it weighs 153 grams.
The device has a metal body and can resist falls from human body’s height. Under the hood, there is the latest Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC clocked at 2.45GHz. There is also an Adreno 540 GPU for better graphics. There are two variants of the device in terms of internal storage and RAM. These are 64GB/6GB and 128GB/8GB variants. Due to enough internal storage, there is no micro SD card slot in both the variants. Both the devices have dual SIM and dual standby options.
The optics side also makes the device one of the best devices in the market. There is a dual camera set up at the back. There is a 16MP main camera with Sony IMX398 sensor and a f/1.7 aperture. A 20MP telephoto camera also supports the main camera. It has Sony IMX350 sensor and f/2.6 aperture. The users will also enjoy better selfies with a 16MP front camera with Sony IMX371 sensor and f/2.0 aperture. Both the front and back cameras have LED flashes to enable photography in the darkness.
There are also a lot of connectivity options in the device. These are 4G LTE with VoLTE support, dual-band WIFI 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS along with A-GPS, and USB Type C.
The sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light, digital compass, gyroscope, and a proximity sensor. On the back, there is a 3300mAh battery that can last for the whole day on a single charge. The device runs latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. The open sale will start from 27th June and it is available at Amazon India.
