People all across the globe were waiting for the launch of Apple’s iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The wait is over as the company has launched both these devices at an event yesterday. The launch event has taken place at the Steve Jobs Theatre in California on Tuesday. Apple has launched iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus along with announcing the launch of iPhone X and Apple Watch 3. Earlier, people were thinking that the upcoming iPhone 8 may also have iPhone X name. But, the company has clarified that iPhone 8 and iPhone X are two different devices.
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are two different devices because both these have low-end specs as compared to iPhone X. The iPhone X is the flagship device from the company released to celebrate its 10th anniversary. The detailed specifications of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are as under:
The iPhone 8 Specifications
The iPhone 8 has a 4.7 HD display with a resolution of 750X1334 pixels. The device has Apple’s own Bionic A11 SoC that has hexa-core processor. Out of these 6 cores, the four cores are efficiency cores to boost the performance of the device. There is also an improved GPU that can give 30% more performance than GPU in iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Moreover, the GPU can show much better graphics. The iPhone 8 retains 12MP camera sensor at the back with many improved modules. The company has also improved the front camera of the device. The iPhone 8 has a 7MP camera sensor at the front. The users can shoot 240 frames per second with a resolution of 1080 pixels.
The iPhone 8 Plus Specifications
The iPhone 8 Plus has improved specifications than iPhone 8. It supports 5.5-Inch Full HD display with 1080X1920 pixels. The processor and the GPU are the same as iPhone 8. The camera department of the device has a lot of improvements over iPhone 8. The iPhone 8 Plus has a dual rare camera setup with both the cameras having 12MP sensors. The front camera also has the same 7MP sensor as iPhone 8.
Both the devices have full glass front without any home button. The devices will unlock through face recognition technology. Both the devices will also support wireless charging and have 25% improved sound quality. Moreover, the users can also charge it through Qi charger.
Thus, it is clear that both these devices have a lot of improvements but maintain the same form factor as earlier iPhone models. The company has also offered three color options in these devices. These will be available in Silver, Space Grey, and Gold color options. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will hit the markets in different batches. The first batch of the devices will hit US, UK, China, Australia and 25 other markets on September 22. The pre-orders for these countries will start on 15th September.
Indian users can buy the device from 29th September in the second batch of shipping. Both these devices will increase the revenue of the company as the company earns two third of its total revenue through mobiles.
