Due to increasing tensions between India and Pakistan, India-Pakistan border will be completely sealed by December 2018. Responding to media after reviewing security in border states with Chief Ministers, Home Minister Rajnath Singh revealed that the border will be sealed by December 2018. It will be a time bound matter. He also disclosed that the government is preparing a concrete action plan.
Singh added that a border security grid will be implemented soon. The Army is looking at technological solutions to man the border. Meanwhile, Singh is expected to border outposts in Rajasthan and also interact with soldiers and commandoes.
The country’s top politician and India’s home minister is on a two-day visit to review security. The meeting reviewed the tensions surrounding India’s western border over a wide range of ceasefire violations, infiltration attempts. Moreover, there were attacks from across the border by destroying India’s properties.
According to officials, around 1,000 km from India’s border with Pakistan is in the Thar desert. Hence, they are difficult to monitor on a regular basis. Moreover, spying, infiltration and smuggling of arms has become a major concern.
According to a report released by NDTV, intelligence agencies have warned of a possible terror attack at airports in Rajasthan, Delhi, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Gujarat. Furthermore, nearly 22 airports in the four states are under constant monitoring. The authorities are issued with detailed warnings. Moreover, the security systems are tightened.
In the meantime, the Civil Aviation Security Bureau has also written to police chiefs, the CISF or the paramilitary force to all airports. The Government has issued warnings to not only airports but also airlines with possible threat alert.
The Government has taken these extreme steps after a series of attacks in Uri and subsequent surgical attacks carried out in the LoC by Indian Army.
