Since the Sabarimala verdict has come, there had been unacceptance by the state people including women.

Now it is shared that two petitions are filed in the top court challenging the Supreme Court’s order allowing women of all ages inside Kerala’s Sabarimala temple.

The verdict which lifted the ban and allowed the entry of women belonging to 10-50 years was questioned in the petition and announced as “can’t be a match for the voice of the people”.

The Nair Service Society also challenged the court verdict. It is a body made by Kerala’s influential Nair community

The other petition was filed by the National Ayyappa Devotees Association. The president of Association said that who demanded to lift the ban on women’s entry, were not the devotee of the Lord Ayyappa. Shylaja Vijayan said that the verdict which slashes down the ban had affected the fundamental rights of millions of devotees of Ayyappa, in her petition.

The petition read-“The petitioners believe that no legal luminary, not even the greatest of jurists or a judge, can be a match to the common sense and wisdom of the masses. No judicial pronouncement, even of the highest judicial tribunal in this country… can be a match for ‘the voice of the people.”

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the state would implement the verdict of the apex court as it was not the work of the government to fight with believers.”Filing a review petition is against the stand”, he added and continued that government had agreed for discussion, in the press conference.

It is shared that the main representatives of the Sabarimala temple’s chief Priest are not agreed to participate in the meeting with Mr Vijayan today to discuss the September 28 verdict as the protests are being carried out in several places of the state.

Hundreds of followers joined the protest while chanting the name of Ayyappa against the verdict which demolished the ban on the entry of females in the temple premises.
