Samsung released its Samsung Pay services in India last month. Since then, several Samsung users have availed the services. The app also supports Paytm wallet in India since its launch. Paytm is one of the most popular mobile wallets in India. During the launch, the company officials had said that the support for the UPI payments would occur in the future. Now, the services are live. The Samsung Pay App in India would also support the UPI payments.
UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is a national service that allows the users for transferring funds among different banks in India. The service only requires the telephone number of the registered users in the bank. This is one of the most accessible services in India. With new integration with Samsung Pay, the services might be accelerated. The users will now be able to initiate the fund transfers with the help of Samsung Pay app only.
If you are a Samsung Pay user, then you will receive the notification. The app will now include the UPI services as well. You will receive a notification once the update will be available on your device. You can open the same to lookout for the services.
Samsung had officially launched its payment services in India as “Samsung Pay”. The company was also accepting the customers through the Early Access Program. Now, the Samsung’s payment service will be available on various devices. These include Galaxy S7, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy A7 and Galaxy A5 smartphones.
Right now, Samsung Pay supports HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, SBI Cards, ICICI Bank, and the Standard Chartered Bank. It also supports the payment through Paytm wallet.
To access Samsung Pay, you need to visit the Samsung website. Then you can register with the help of a valid email id. You need to register with the Early Access Program. The size of the Samsung Pay app is 81 MB. You will also be asked to enter the ID and fingerprint for security reasons.
Samsung will also partner with Visa and MasterCard in the coming days. The Android Nougat update is available for several Samsung devices in India. This brings the Samsung Pay app to the users.
