HYDERABAD: Regarding the assembly elections that will take place in Telangana on 7th of December 2018, Bhartiya Janta Party will release its second list of candidates before Diwali, said a party leader today.
The list, expected to comprise 30-40 seats, would be released “certainly before Diwali (on November 7)”, BJP spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao told our news sources.
There are a total 119 assembly seats in the state and Bhartiya Janta Party has already released its first list on October 20. The first list released by the party has 38 nominees.
As per the schedule released by the Election Commission, the last date of nominations is November 19 and the Gazette notification for the elections will be issued on November 12.
On the other hand, BJP spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao has revealed that the manifesto regarding the upcoming assembly elections in the state will be released in the second week of November. He also conveyed that the draft would be ready by the first weekend.
Regarding the manifesto, the BJP has proposed regulation of liquor sale in the state, free transport to those taking up ‘Deeksha’ (religious code of behaviour) for visiting temples, including Sabarimala and total waiver of tax on petrol and diesel.
As per the news sources, the party’s campaign has already been initiated by the BJP chief Amit Shah in September regarding the assembly elections in Telangana. Shah kicked off the party’s campaign at a public meeting at Mahabubnagar. Besides this, the party chief also addressed another meeting earlier this month at Karimnagar.
A few days back Amit Shah was present at the national convention of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) organized in Hyderabad on October 21 and he addressed the event there.
