A post on XDA Developers page reveals that Galaxy A5 (2016) is receiving Android 7.0 Nougat update in the European region. Neither the company nor XDA developers have made it clear whether the other regions are receiving this update or not. The SM-A510F is the model which is receiving this latest and most awaited Android version. We are unaware of the changes that this new update would bring about, as the company has not released any changelog about this update.
Earlier, Samsung issued a list of devices scheduled for this update. Galaxy A (2016) series was on this list. This A series is the most successful series of smartphones from Samsung. It consists of Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9, and A9 Pro. The company regained its lost position in the smartphone manufacturing field because of Galaxy J and Galaxy A series. We know that the failure of Galaxy Note 7 last year has earned the company a bad name.
According to XDA forum, this update has been begun on 29th of April. It will reach all the devices soon. The forum also made it clear that this update is only for the European models. It has further said that the rooted devices can also get this update by changing their locations. Many users have updated the rooted devices to this latest build, and those devices are working perfectly without any problem.
Last year, the company promised to give an update of Android 7.0 Nougat for the entire A series, released in 2016. This series was released with Android 5.1.1 out of the box. And now, this is encouraging the company to fulfill the promise. Still, we do not know when the other devices in this line up are going to receive this update. But, it can be soon as the company has already rolled out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for its premium devices like Galaxy S7, S6, and Note 5.
