On Monday, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Punjab Minister fortified Navjot Kaur Sidhu against the Amritsar train incident. He said that it was not her mistake actually and it was the fault of the railway gateman because of which the incident took place on Friday in which 60 casualties were reported.
On Friday, Navjot Kaur Sidhu, who is the wife of Navjot Singh Sidhu was invited as a chief guest at a Dussehra function in Amritsar, when a train with high speed mowed down on numerous people who were presented to see the function. Bajwa said it is baseless news coming that Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) was asking for the elimination of Navjot Singh Sidhu from the cabinet because of the tragedy.
Both husband and wife was the target of the Akalis ever since the train tragedy happened. The SAD was blaming Navjot Kaur Sidhu and the event organizer of the Dussehra Function. They also wanted to file a murder case against them, accusing them by holding them guilty for encouraging the dreadful tragedy. Besides this, they are also asking for sacking Navjot Singh Sidhu from the cabinet.
Bajwa reported our sources, “how can we blame Navjot Kaur Sidhu when she was not at fault.” He accused the railway gatemen at the nearby railway crossing and said he was responsible for the tragic tragedy.
“Several people were standing on the railway lines which were at a distance of 300 meters from the railway crossing. Was the railway gatemen not aware of it? Hence, it is the responsibility of the railway gateman to not give the green signal to the train when several people are standing on the railway lines, Minister Said. Denying the SAD demand of eliminating Navjot Singh Sidhu from the cabinet, the minister said that there are a lot of people who are asking for the acquiescence of Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal.
He further said that the location where the Dussehra function took place was congested and was unable to accommodate several people at the same time. But there was no other option as the function was happening for the past 40 years now at the same place. Congress leader protecting his wife said that as soon as she got to know about the tragedy she went to the hospital to meet the wounded.
