More than 20 Maharashtra Police officers, dressed in plain clothes raided the Varavara Rao’s residence at Jawahar Nagar. Only Rao and his wife were present in the house at that time. A huge crowd collected in front of the house to support Rao and his family members who reached outside and said that the couple was under medication but were not give food since morning.
Even similar raids were conducted at residences of Rao’s two daughters Anala and Pavana who are married to journalist Kurmanath and a central university professor Satyanarayana respectively.
