To counter Jio and Jio TV app, Bharti Airtel is also going to offer Netflix subscription on Airtel TV app. The advance talks between Airtel and Netflix are going on for a few days. It is worth mentioning that Airtel and Netflix are already in partnership to offer Netflix app on Airtel internet and DTH services. One thing very encouraging is that Airtel users do not have to pay subscription charges. Instead, they will only pay for the data they will consume. This new tie-up will enable customers to enjoy Netflix on their mobiles. The sources say that the deal is almost final and the companies may announce it soon.

Netflix hosts about 125 hours of TV shows and movies per day. These include feature films, documentaries, and original series. All the subscribers can access these programs. There are also reports that Netflix is planning to buy a movie theater. Earlier, it has approached Los Angeles based large theater. But, the higher price of the theater discouraged Netflix.

Bharti Airtel is upgrading its TV app to counter Jio TV app. It is already offering a free subscription to Amazon Prime customers since January 2018. The Airtel TV app has also partnered with Hotstar in February. These contracts have expanded the Airtel TV app catalog. The official sources from Netflix denied talking about these rumors and speculations. Bharti Airtel has not given an immediate reply to the email sent to know their viewpoint.

Airtel and Videocon have partnered with Netflix in March 2017 to offer its content on D2H services. The current plans of Netflix are a great hurdle in expanding its services to new customers. It is one of the largest paid video streaming services available in the country. The free subscription will attract many viewers.
