Sometimes you actually want to go back to history to see what exactly happened! Who did what, when and where! But past is past and we can only find it in books, journals, or any other paper work.
We can only feel it through our reading, but thanks to cinema, where we can see the history in front of us. We can feel with these moving images, as how those people have felt at that time or what happened at that time which urges today’s film maker to make a movie on it. Every film maker has its own perception and way of storytelling.
This Friday, once again a history is revived with a movie “31st October”. Such a sensitive past dealt beautifully by director Shivaji Lotan Patil, written and produced by Harry Sachdeva. The film features Vir Das and Soha Ali Khan as a Sikh couple. The movie is based on Indira Gandhi Assassination. How her bodyguards killed her and then the repercussions.

All of a sudden everything changes when India’s third Prime Minister shot dead by her bodyguards, Satwant Singh and Beant Singh. Everything was forgotten and people were out on streets with their sticks and other harmful stuff to target the Sikh community.
Those who have no idea about this incident, movie serves well to them. But those innocent people who have suffered the aftermath, lost their business, their families are still waiting for the justice, as intended by the film maker.
Soha and Vir have given their best performance as the lead pair of the movie. The movie has showcased those events which affected many lives. Not exactly well structured but it should be seen once.
