ICC Women World Cup is in progress in England these days. We have seen a lot of match-winning performances in this event so far. Indian women have shattered many records and earned a good name for the country. One of the most stunning records was broken by Mithali Raj. The Indian captain has achieved the honor of being the leading all-time run scorer in Women ODI. She has not only crossed the highest score 5992 of Charlotte Edwards but has also become the first women to cross 6000 runs in women cricket. She has crossed this landmark in a World Cup group match against Australian women.

The 34-year-old cricketer started her international career in 1999 with a match against Ireland. The cricket experts had judged her ability from the very day she played her first match. She scored a brilliant hundred in her debut and played a key role in Indian team’s victory. Mithali has played 183 ODIs and 164 innings so far. She has broken Charlotte Edward’s record in 164 innings which are 16 fewer than her. Another greatest achievement is her above 50 averages throughout her career. She has scored 6028 runs at an average of 51.52 in 164 innings. She also has another world record of making most fifties in women ODIs. The number of her fifties is 49.

After February 7th, 2017, she has scored 7 consecutive fifties in ODIs which are the greatest ever in women cricket. Due to her extraordinary performance, she is often called the Sachin Tendulkar of Indian Women Cricket team.

This Women Cricket World Cup is also unforgettable for India as one of their players has achieved the honor of highest wicket taker in the history. Jhulan Goswami won the title of leading wicket taker in women cricket when she got her 181st wicket in a match against South Africa.

There is a great wonder in the reality that the Indians are the leading run scorers both in Men’s and Women’s cricket. Sachin Tendulkar tops the Men’s list and Mithali Raj tops the Women’s list.
