Post her pregnancy announcement, there has been a regular rumor on whether Kareena Kapoor will be part of Veere Di Wedding or not. But Sonam Kapoor in a recent interview dismissed the report that Kareena Kapoor has opted out of the film due to health reasons. The “Khoobsurat” actress called the story untrue and just gossip by media.

On Monday the press was speculating that the soon to be mother Kareena who is expecting her first child with husband Saif Ali Khan has finally opted out of the movie due to health reason. But no confirmation regarding this rumor has been confirmed either from the actress side nor the director of the movie

But Sonam Kapoor who was addressing the media at an event of the IMC Ladies Wing celebrating its Golden Jubilee this year said that the rumor is completely baseless. She also criticized the famous newspaper for not being responsible enough to contact them before writing this news.

The “Neerja” Actress stated that nobody from the paper had contacted them nor are they picking calls to clarify why the wrote the story. She said that certain parts of the movie will be shot now whereas the rest will be shot in April post-delivery.

Further, she stressed on how women in general in spite of achieving so much in their life still have to be judged on the way they speak, walk and when are they going to have a child. The gorgeous actress stressed on how women have to go through so many obstacles in this patriarchal society.

Moreover, she talked about how building good foundation will give better opportunities for women to perform well in the society. She cited examples of Indian women’s success in the Rio Olympics this year.

The Fashionista dismissed the regular buzz that the 35-year-old actor might opt out of the film because she will be in her second trimester and her health does not allow her to take any work right now.

About the movie:

Veere Di Wedding is directed by Shashanka Ghosh and is produced jointly by Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor. The movie is inspired from Hollywood flick The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants and will star Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania in prominent roles.
