Apple’s iPhone 8 is one of the most awaited smartphones of the year after the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy S8. The company has set its launch date in September. Different rumors have been revolving about its design after the Apple’s assertion of a complete change of design. Today’s image posted on China’s largest social media website Weibo has stunned the people with its technical specifications. Although Weibo is not renowned for providing accurate news, yet Apples’ own claims of design change give some value to it.
The company has already announced the release of three variations of iPhone 8. Of all the three, the iPhone 8 special edition will boost a complete change of design. The image posted on Weibo also has a table showing the technical specifications of the device.
Schematics shows iPhone 8 with least bezels on the right and left the side of the device. The upper and lower bezels are also minimal supporting the view that iPhone 8 may have virtual front buttons. But we see all this in a body which is almost same as iPhone 7. The charging port and speakers are at the same place as in iPhone 7.
To the back, there are changes visible also. The one is the fingerprint scanner fixed below Apples’ logo making it easy to reach. Earlier this year, we also heard the news about Apples’ facing problems in fixation of the fingerprint scanner inside the display. The company has solved this problem by shifting the fingerprint scanner to back side. The camera set up is also changed with dual vertical cameras with LED flash fixed at top left corner.
The table in leaked image gives the dimensions as 149mm height, 72.5mm width, and 7.1mm thickness. It is clear that iPhone 8 is same in thickness as iPhone 7 with a little-increased height. These drawings are for Apples’ EVT (Engineering Validation Test) and are prone to changes. It has to pass through many EVT’s before its launch later this year.
