Interestingly, one of the popular social media networks, Instagram is majorly used by youths on their smartphones. In a study named ‘ Indians at Instagram’, it was found that Indian users prefer smartphones to upload images and videos on the network. The study was conducted on Indian youngsters by Nielsen.
He claims that more than 80 percent of the user base around the country, which falls in the age range from 18 years to 24 years use Instagram to click images and upload them to their account by using their smartphones or tablets.
“Instagram is the creative canvas for a young, passionate and mobile-first Indian community. People come to Instagram for visual inspiration and we are thrilled to offer solutions that create value for the Indian community and drive impactful business results for businesses of all sizes,” Kirthiga Reddy, managing director, Facebook India, says in a press note.
In an event held at New Delhi, the Facebook-owned firm has revealed that they had welcomed a large number of active monthly users on their platform, as compared to the same period in September, which shows only half of them.
The most interesting fact revealed by the study is that around 50 percent of visitors used Instagram during vacations as they found four times on holidays, last year. In addition, more than 50 percent of Instagrammers uses the platform to buy new products from the brand they follow.
It is also expected that users might follow the brands and service providers to get updated with the trendy products, and to learn about latest offers and deals to shop online. The key interest of the people includes music, travel, food, photography, technology, fashion and sports.
