On Sunday, a 30-year old software engineer lost his life after he was crushed under the wheels of a local train. The incident took place at 5:28 am when the engineer tried to board a moving train and slipped after losing his balance.
Sudharshan Choudhary, a software engineer recently moved to Goregaon in March after getting a job with IBM. As per the sources, Sudharshan Choudhary tried to get into the train while it had already started pulling out of the platform 1 of Dadar station. There are reports that he was in a hurry to join a trekking group that was travelling in the train due to which he made the wrong decision and tried to board the moving train.
Chandrashekar Chindolkar, one of the friends of Choudhary revealed that he used to go for trekking every month but on Sunday he got a bit late to board the train in which other members were travelling to go for tracking.
As Sudharshan was a bit late, he reached the western side of Dadar station and got on the FOB to reach the Central Railway platform. After reaching the FOB which connects to platform no. 1, Sudharshan noticed that the train was already moving. In order to catch the moving train, he rushed down on to the platform and tried to catch the moving train during which he slipped and was crushed under the wheels of a local train.
Senior Police Inspector of GRP Dadar, Prasad Pandre said, “He had clung onto the grab pole but was dragged along with the train and ultimately came under the wheels of the train.”
After the incident took place, Sudharshan was immediately rushed to the Sion Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. The doctors revealed the cause of death as a shock due to polytrauma.
