Recently, an incident took place in which whats app group admin Junaid Khan ended up in jail for forwarding a message in his group. Our news sources say that Junaid Khan(21 years), who is a resident of Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh is in jail for the last five months for a WhatsApp message which was forwarded by someone else on a group and he was arrested as he was the admin of that whats app group.
Junaid Khan is a student of BSC who was arrested under the IT Act and IPC Section 124A (sedition) on February 14 earlier this year. On the arrest of the 21-year-old, the family said that Junaid Khan has not forwarded the message and neither was khan the admin of the group and the message was sent by a person named ‘Irfan’.
Besides this, police have reported media that when the case came in their notice Khan was the group admin so the case got filed against him, however, the family still argues that Khan was not the admin of the group but was the member.
“It was then the admin left the group and another member became the admin by default. But he, too, quit. Khan became the admin by default but he was not the admin when the post was shared,” his cousin, Farukh Khan said.
Farukh also said that as the court denied him bail because the 21-year-old was arrested for sedition so Khan even missed his exams that too for an act that hasn’t performed by him. They also tried to contact CM helpline and some senior police officers but no help was offered.
Besides this, Yuvraj Singh Chouhan(the investigative officer in Khan’s case), said that “Junaid’s family members did not say this when he was arrested. Now, after the challan has been put up in court, they say he was the ‘default admin’.”
Yuvraj Singh Chouhan also added that when the matter came to the police department Irfan was also arrested but Khan was the admin of the group and there were no pieces of evidence that when the ‘objectionable’ message was forwarded Irfan was the admin of that group.
As per our news resources, Simala Prasad, Rajgarh superintendent of police said that investigation is still going on regarding few other members being the admins of the same group.
