NEW DELHI: Congress has released its first list of 65 candidates for the upcoming Telangana polls. The 65 candidates list was released by the party on Monday regarding the Assembly elections that will take place on 7th of December in the state. The list was released after a marathon meeting chaired by Rahul Gandhi.
As per the recent reports, Party Telangana chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy will contest from the Huzurnagar constituency. And Congress is seeking to upstage K Chandrashekar Rao-led Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in Telangana.
The 65 candidates list for the Assembly elections in the state was released late at night by CEC General Secretary Mukul Wasnik. The list came up soon after the marathon meeting that was organized by the Central Election Committee (CEC) of the party ended. The party’s Central Election Committee (CEC) was chaired by party president Rahul Gandhi. Almost all Congress leaders of the state were present at the marathon meeting, reported news sources.
On the other hand, Congress is putting its best possible efforts in order to reach an electoral understanding on various seats with Telugu Desam Party (TDP) headed by Chandrababu Naidu. The party and its chief was sometimes an ally of the ruling NDA. Chandrababu Naidu stepped out of the ruling alliance some time ago over the issue of the Centre not granting special status to Andhra Pradesh.
To give a tough competition to the Bhartiya Janta Party in the upcoming elections, Telugu Desam Party president Chandrababu Naidu is meeting various opposition leaders and is seeking to be a part of a united front of various parties so that they can align together and defeat BJP.
