On Saturday, former chief of ISRO Madhavan Nair and former chief of Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) G Raman Nair were introduced to the BJP party in Kerala. They were among the five others who got introduced into the BJP party in Kerala.
According to the sources, the ceremony took place in the presence of BJP Chief Amit Shah, along with the members Madhavan Nair, Raman Nair, a former member of the state women’s commission J Prameela Devi, Janata Dal (S) former district vice president Karakulam Divakaran and Thomas John of the Malankara.
Madhavan Nair who was the head of ISRO from the year 2003 to 2009 and oversaw India’s first mission to the moon, Chandrayan 1, has also been charged in the Antrix-Devas deal case.
Nair was found guilty in August 2016 against a case of causing a loss of Rs 578 crore to the exchequer. The contract was connected between private multimedia company Devas and Antrix, the commercial arm of ISRO. Nair along with some other officials have been blamed by the CBI of emerging into an unlawful planning with a motive to create undue gains to themselves or others by abusing their official positions and causing loss to Antrix Corporation and ISRO.
According to the statement by one of the leading newspapers, Madhavan Nair said that he is really impressed and interested in PM Narendra Modi’s beliefs. Nair said that he has been working for the BJP for quite some time now but yesterday, Amit Shahji formally introduced him to the party. Nair revealed that he is interested in Modiji’s philosophy of developing India. “That is the main reason why I am joining the Bhartiya Janta Party,” Nair asserted.
Adding more to his statement, Nair said that he will put all his efforts to provide technical help to the Modi Government in order to boost Modi’s nation-building programmes. He also asserted that this is the only thing that he has been thinking of for a while.
